                                                                                               INTRODUCTION

 

"Elvacite" acrylic resins are polymers or copolymers of methyl methacrylate or other acrylic monomers for use in solvent-applied lacquers, inks, adhesives and specialty coatings*. The "Elvacite " resins offer the distinctive combination of properties associated with high-quality acrylic coating resins:

 

  "Elvacite" resins are available as minute spherical beads in grades that differ widely in such properties as hardness, flexibility, solubility and solution viscosity. Compatibility with a variety lf film formers and plasticizers permits further modification to achieve the exact properties desired.

  The "Elvacite" resins are thermoplastic. They are thermally stable up to 177-232C (351-450F), will above their softening range. At higher temperatures, i.e., about 260C (500F) or above, they undergo smooth depolymerization to monomers, leaving negligible ash.

  "Elvacite" acrylic resins have a wide range of molecular weight, flexibility and functionality, and are particularly will suited for protective and decorative coatings for plastics,metals, concrete,wood and paper
